Yucatán Black Howler Monkey

Alouatta pigra is the scientific name belongs to Mammalia class and Atelidae family. Known as endangered animal in Mexico. They found in primary and secondary forests. They like to live in areas that are below 900m. Seasonally flooded riparian areas, swamps and riparian forests are also considered as their favorite areas where they occur.

They feed on leaves, fruit and flowers. They can 20 to 25 inch in size. Males and females have 11.4 and 6.4kg weight respectively. They can live up to 20 years.

Listed as endangered species due to the loss of their population from last three generations. They have lost their 60% of population still population is decreasing. This is the reason that make them endangered species in Mexico in 2003.

Baker’s Small-toothed Harvest Mouse

Reithrodontomys bakeri is scientific name belongs to Mammalia class and Cricetidae family. Listed as endangered because they have area of occupancy less than 5000km square. Native to mexico having minimum 2,150m elevation limit. Their population is still decreasing there are no proper conservation steps are taken to save this species from extinction.

Black-tailed Deer Mouse

Peromyscus melanurus is the scientific name belongs to Mammalia class and Cricetidae family. They native to mexico. Listed as endangered species in mexico due to area of occupancy less than 5,000km square. They have upper elevation and lower elevation limit 1900 and 700 respectively.

There is no information for their population is found their population trend is also unknown. No one knows about their population.Habitat loss and use of agriculture are the major threats that decline the population for this species.
Findley’s Myotis

Myotis findleyi is scientific name belongs to Mammalia class and Vespertilionidae family. Listed as endangered species animal in Mexico due to their less area of occupancy. Their body length is about 2 inch without including tail.

First time in 1996 they are listed as endangered and second time they become endangered in 2008 according to IUCN red list. Continuing loss in area of occupancy and number of location where they can found also declining.
Population trend is still decreasing having genes problem which is the major threat that decrease the population of this species. This threat add them in endangered species in Mexico list. No proper conservation steps are taken to save this species.

Flat-headed Myotis

Myotis planiceps is the scientific name belongs to Mammalia class and Vespertilionidae family. They can 2 to 3 inch in length and heavy about 7 grams. They mostly found in the states of Mexico. Their population trend is decreasing only 240 individuals are remaining. Habitat loss considered as major threat for them which badly disturb population of this species.
